Today, the new landmark of the SENNEBOGEN machine factory already marks the way for all visitors of the Straubing-Port industrial area - at night the tip is even illuminated green. With a winter celebration, on Thursday, together with the participating construction firms, the company celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the SENNEBOGEN Academy and the Museum, which are under construction. Work has been underway on the 25,000 m² construction site, which also includes an extensive demonstration site, since mid 2012. The two CEOs, Erich and Walter Sennebogen, together with the executing architect, and many honored guests, set a time capsule with historic material in the central area of the pyramid. A daily newspaper, construction plans, the current corporate brochure, and several coins slid into the depths. Centrally situated under the dome, this cornerstone forms the center of the pyramid-shaped Museum that already corresponds to the early drafts of the company founder.
"With the construction of our Academy and Museum we are consistently adhering to our principles: Innovative, globally active, and nevertheless down to earth and close to home, we view the future with optimism and today we are looking forward to the opening", with this statement Erich SENNEBOGEN emphasized the core values of the family-run business. Special thanks were expressed to the executing companies and the architecture firm, Omlor-Mehringer. In the months to come the interior of the building and the landscaping will be finished - the opening is scheduled for May 2014.
